Upcoming Geotechnical Work at Bank Street and Leitrim Road Intersection

Beginning in mid to late June, the City of Ottawa will carry out geotechnical borehole work at the intersection of Bank Street and Leitrim Road as part of the design process for future intersection modifications.

What to Expect
Specialized drilling equipment will be used to collect soil and groundwater samples. This work is expected to take approximately one week, weather permitting. In some locations, soil sample containers may remain on-site for up to three additional weeks while lab results are completed.

Location
Work will take place at various locations along Bank Street and Leitrim Road. The exact location of work will change daily.

Traffic and Accessibility
Temporary lane reductions are anticipated during the work. The City is committed to maintaining accessibility through construction zones. If you require a disability-related accommodation, visit ottawa.ca/accessibleformat.

Noise
Drilling may generate noise. Work is permitted under the City’s Noise By-law (2017-255) during the following hours:

  • Weekdays and Saturdays: 7 am to 10 pm

  • Sundays and holidays: 9 am to 10 pm

Impact on Private Property
Boreholes will be drilled into the road surface and reinstated after completion. No impacts to private properties are expected.
