As the excitement of a new school year approaches, we are excited to share the Caring and Sharing Exchange’s annual Sharing in Student Success Campaign! Their mission is to ensure that every student in Ottawa has the supplies they need to start the school year on the right foot, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
Shopping for school supplies is a luxury many struggling families cannot afford. Starting school with the proper tools can significantly impact a student’s academic success and overall confidence. By coming together, we can help bridge this gap and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
How You Can Help:
- Monetary Donations: Financial contributions are greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase supplies for students in need. Donations can be made through Caring and Sharing Exchange’s website.
- Sponsor a Backpack: You can also choose to sponsor a backpack filled with essential school supplies for a student. Your sponsorship will ensure that a child starts the school year with everything they need to succeed. You can find all of the information to sponsor a backpack here.
Donate Supplies: Drop off new school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essentials at our designated collection points throughout the city however the Caring and Sharing Exchange has noted that financial donations are preferred. With these funds they are able to purchase new school supplies in bulk at a discounted rate, allowing your donor dollar to go further. For those wishing to donate school supplies, please see the list of most-needed items below:

- NEW Blunt Scissors (we cannot accept sharp scissors – we only give out scissors that are appropriate for children)
