I wanted to provide you with an update on a proposed development in our ward that may be of interest to local residents.

A Site Plan Control application has been submitted for 3210 Albion Road South for a new light industrial facility. The proposal includes a 12,000 square foot pre-engineered building that would be divided into two leasable units, with potential for office space as well. The development is planned in phases, with the possibility of expanding to 18,000 square feet in a future phase.

Key Details:

  • The property is appropriately zoned for Light Industrial use and aligns with the city’s Official Plan
  • The existing house on the property will temporarily serve as a site office
  • Access will be via a single driveway from Albion Road
  • The project includes proper stormwater management and environmental controls
  • All technical requirements related to the airport, railway, and watershed protections are being addressed

This type of development supports our ward’s employment opportunities while maintaining appropriate land use in our industrial areas. The proponent has been working collaboratively with city staff through the pre-consultation process to ensure all requirements are met.
