Residents and motorists may be pleased to hear that work associated with the installation of new signage foundations in the Highway 417 median near the Pinecrest/Greenbank Road overpass is progressing ahead of schedule.
As a result, the current lane reductions on Highway 417 are expected to be removed and all lanes restored as early as Monday, June 22, approximately five weeks ahead of the original timeline.
To complete the remaining work, overnight lane reductions and ramp closures will be required on June 20 and 21:
Saturday, June 20 (9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Sunday)
-
One westbound lane will remain open between Woodroffe Avenue and Pinecrest Road.
-
Eastbound traffic will not be affected.
-
Several westbound Highway 417 on- and off-ramps at Woodroffe and Pinecrest will be closed overnight.
Sunday, June 21 (9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday)
-
One eastbound lane will remain open between Richmond Road and Pinecrest/Greenbank Road.
-
Westbound traffic will not be affected.
-
Several eastbound Highway 417 on- and off-ramps at Richmond and Pinecrest will be closed overnight.
Once this work is complete, all Highway 417 lanes and ramps in the area are expected to fully reopen.
Please note that all work is weather dependent and schedules may change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Signage, social media updates, and public service announcements will be used to help notify motorists of the temporary overnight impacts.
