We’re pleased to share a significant update on the Greenboro Splash Pad and Wading Pool refresh: construction is set to begin!
The final pool day of the season will be August 15, with fencing scheduled to be installed around the site on August 17.
To mark this exciting milestone, I will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on August 19 at 5:00 p.m. in Greenboro Park. Residents are welcome to join us as we celebrate the start of work on this much-anticipated project.
What to Expect During Construction
During construction, the contractor will use the rear parking lot, which includes 22 parking spaces, for site access and staging. As a result, the pathway connecting the traffic island to the north-south pathway will also be temporarily closed.
The goal is to complete the wading pool and water connections this fall. When work pauses for the season, the rear parking lot will reopen for public use, along with as much of the surrounding park as can safely be made accessible.
A smaller parking area near the Bookmobile will also need to temporarily close while infrastructure connections are completed. This work is currently scheduled for September 22 to October 26, 2026, and access to the north-south pathway will be affected during this period.
We appreciate residents’ patience while work is underway and look forward to continuing to share updates as the project progresses.
