In honour of Ottawa’s 200th anniversary, a commemorative tree will take root in every ward, celebrating the city’s beginnings as Bytown. Each planting site has already been identified and approved through the Tree Dedication Program.
In Gloucester-Southgate, Fawn Meadow Park has been selected as the site for the tree. The 50 mm caliper tree will be accompanied by a commemorative Ottawa 200 plaque and receive three years of City-provided watering. Planting is tentatively scheduled to take place this fall.
