Hunt Club Transit & Active Transportation Improvements

Mar 18, 2026 | Active Transportation, Transportation

Location: Hunt Club Road (from just before the Airport Parkway off‑ramp to just before the Transitway overpass; possible extension to Bridle Path under review)

Project Type: Transit & Active Transportation Infrastructure Improvements

Developer/Lead Agency: City of Ottawa

Project Overview

The City of Ottawa has started the design phase for the Hunt Club Transit & Active Transportation Improvements project. This project aims to make the Hunt Club corridor safer, more efficient, and more accessible for all road users by enhancing transit priority measures and expanding active transportation infrastructure.

Key project elements include:

  • Widening Hunt Club Road to add continuous dedicated bus lanes
  • New protected active transportation facilities behind bridge columns
  • Construction of new cycle‑tracks
  • Installation of new sidewalks
  • Construction of new retaining walls
  • Upgrades to cycling and pedestrian infrastructure

The current project limits begin just west of the Airport Parkway off‑ramp and end just before the Transitway overpass. My office has requested that the study area be expanded eastward to Bridle Path, to address longstanding connectivity and mobility issues in this section. City staff are currently assessing the feasibility of this extension.
