Project Overview
The City of Ottawa is undertaking the realignment and redesign of the Conroy Road / Davidson Road offset intersections to create a single, aligned intersection. The preferred option identified through preliminary design is a modern roundabout.
The project involves:
- Realignment of the east leg of Davidson Road to line up with the west leg, requiring property acquisition from the National Capital Commission (NCC) and a land exchange agreement.
- Construction of a new roundabout at the realigned intersection.
- 500 m of roadway improvements on Davidson Road and 350 m on Conroy Road.
- Multi-use pathway (MUP) installation around the roundabout.
- Pedestrian crossovers (PXOs) on every leg of the roundabout.
- Street lighting upgrades across the entire project area.
- Roadside ditch modifications, reinstated or replaced culverts, and localized storm sewer installations to maintain proper drainage.
- Speed limit reduction to 60 km/h approaching the new roundabout on both Conroy Road and Davidson Road.
- Relocation of Hydro Ottawa infrastructure into the new Davidson Road right‑of‑way.
- Naturalization of the existing east leg of Davidson Road once traffic is shifted to the new alignment.

Community Involvement:
A virtual public information session was held on April 10, 2025, to present the functional design options for a traffic control signal and a roundabout to the public. At this time attendees were able to review the design, ask questions and provide comment on the design options.
A second public information session is expected to be held in late fall 2025 to present the detailed design drawings to the public. At this time attendees will be able to review the design, ask questions and provide comment on the proposed works.
